PARTNER OVERVIEW
Vicomtech is an applied research centre for Interactive Computer Graphics and Multimedia located in San Sebastian, Spain.
A non-profit association, Vicomtech was founded in 2001 as a joint venture by the INI-GraphicsNet Foundation and the EiTB Broadcasting Group. Of its 200 employees, around 140 are researchers.
The role of Vicomtech in the market is to supply society with technology via the transfer of primary research to industry through collaborative R&D projects. Vicomtech’s main research lines lay in the fields of computer vision, computer graphics and interaction; technologies which Vicomtech continues to apply in multitude of sectors.
Partner Project Role
Vicomtech is the technical coordinator for the RESPONDENT project, as well as the leader for WP4 – Power Demand Forecasting.
Vicomtech will work on the weather forecasting, as well as the forecasting of the demand and response, in order to optimise the use of renewable energies and their better integration in the net.
