European Sustainable Energy Week 2024 (EUSEW24), held from June 11th to 13th in the Charlamagne Building in the heart of Brussels, was a fantastic trade fair that brought together over 2,000 participants, including stakeholders, industry leaders, and more than 50 innovative projects from across Europe to discuss and showcase advancements in the future of the continent’s energy sector.

As a project utilising European space-based technology for better integration of renewable energy sources into the modern energy infrastructure, RESPONDENT was proudly represented at this influential event, contributing to the  critical dialogue on renewable energy and the ambitious plans for a cleaner, greener Europe.

Day 1

The excitement of the event was palpable from the first day, as attendees from all across Europe visited the ‘Renewables for the net-zero transition’ stall, where RESPONDENT’s Project Coordinator, Effie Makri, and the Communication and Dissemination Manager, Benjamin Moore, engaged visitors with insights into our project’s innovative solutions. Indeed, the opening day set a vibrant tone for the rest of the event, with numerous stakeholders showing interest in RESPONDENT’s mission, ambitions, and plans for its first pilot event this October.

Day 2

Day two of the event was marked by intriguing discussions and presentations for our project partners. One highlight was a talk on Artificial Intelligence in the energy sector, a subject particularly relevant to RESPONDENT. As a Horizon Europe project incorporating advanced AI models into its solutions, this session provided valuable insights and sparked engaging conversations about the future of AI in energy. Additionally, our team shared informative flyers detailing RESPONDENT’s ground-breaking approaches with attendees, further broadening our reach and impact.

Day 3

The third and final day at EUSEW2024 was a busy and absorbing conclusion to the three-day event. As with the previous days, RESPONDENT continued to attract a steady stream of visitors keen to learn how European space technology is being leveraged for a cleaner, greener future, as well as to hear about our upcoming pilot demonstrations later this year and in early 2025. The event provided an excellent platform for RESPONDENT to network and knowledge exchange, allowing our team to connect with numerous stakeholders and end-users.

As EUSEW2024 drew to a close, it was clear that the event had been a tremendous success for RESPONDENT. We had the opportunity to engage with a diverse audience, attend enlightening talks on the energy transition, and showcase our project alongside other outstanding EU-funded initiatives. The interactions and connections made during these three days will undoubtedly propel our mission forward.

A sincere thank you to everyone who visited our stall and to all who contributed to making EUSEW2024 a success, and we look forward to continuing our journey towards a sustainable energy future and sharing our progress with you.
